HOW IT ALL STARTED

In the mid 1990s  Val and Tony Howells moved to Essex to work in boarding kennels. Taking along with them a herd of Angora Goats ,
3 dogs and two cockatiels.
After surviving the 2001 foot and mouth outbreak sheep were added
to the menagerie  and the rest as they say is History!!

Coloured Ryelands were aquired in 2004 with the purchase of 4 ewes and a ram we have bred from these and kept on the ewe lambs to increase the flock.

The Coloured Ryeland flock now consists of 12 Coloured Ryeland  ewes Zeta, Coffee, Fizz, Hetty, Harriett ,3  ewes purchased from Wales in 2007 June,Julie and Josie,  Kate, Kylie, Kola and Kozi and of Course Ginger the Portland and Sooty the Suffolk who is now retired. We now have Nuala and Nina who will be first time mums in 2012, and from 2011 lambs we have retained Paris, Pippa and Polly who have made their mark in the show ring this year and look forward to doing it again next year as yearlings!

Haveing lost my beautiful boys tragically this year Montgomery Noah was purchased back in June 2010 to replace them, but i have retained 5 ram lambs from Freddy and Liqourice and we will see how they turn out next year.
